TrainersCafé is a Pokémon fan site run by one person. This policy covers the website at trainerscafe.com. If anything here is unclear, email kylechapman09@gmail.com and ask.

You can use most of the site without an account

Browsing the Pokédex, the TCG sets, the Dex Files and the leaderboards requires no account and no sign-in. If you never create an account, the only information involved is the technical data described under Hosting and Advertising below.

What we collect if you do create an account

Accounts are handled by Supabase, which stores your login credentials. You can sign up with an email address and password, or with Google.

• Your email address, so you can sign in and recover your account. It is stored by Supabase and is not shown to other users.
• A username and optional avatar, which are public — they appear on your profile, on leaderboards and next to anything you post.
• Your activity on the site: which Pokémon you have caught or favourited, your teams and roster, coins, battle records, ratings, game scores and login streaks. Most of this is public by design, because it is what the leaderboards and profiles are made of.
• Anything you write: forum posts, comments and direct messages.
• Timestamps, including when you created your account and when you were last active — the site uses the last-active time to show who is online.
• How you arrived, if you came from a link that says so — for example a link from the YouTube channel. This is a single short tag, not a tracking profile.

Cookies and local storage

• Sign-in cookies. Set by Supabase to keep you logged in. Without these you cannot stay signed in.
• Your browser's local storage. Used to remember your theme choice, your difficulty setting in Who's That Pokémon, and your progress in the daily puzzle and Ball Drop. This never leaves your device.
• Advertising cookies. Google and its partners may set cookies to serve and measure ads. See below.

The site does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics or behaviour-tracking package. There is no tracking pixel and no third-party analytics script.

Advertising

The site is set up to show ads through Google AdSense, and the AdSense script is loaded on the site. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure them.

• Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and others.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings.
• You can opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices.

Other services the site relies on

• Supabase — accounts, database and file storage.
• Vercel — hosting. Like any web host it processes standard request data, including IP addresses, as part of serving pages and keeping the service running.
• YouTube — some Dex Files embed a video. The embeds use youtube-nocookie.com, which does not set advertising cookies until you press play. Once you do, YouTube receives your request and its own terms apply.
• PokeAPI, TCGdex and GitHub — Pokémon data, card data and images are loaded directly by your browser from these services, which means they receive your IP address and browser details as part of the request. This is how the images on the site get to you.

Your information is not sold, and it is not shared with anyone beyond the services above that are needed to run the site.

Age

This site is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them. If you are under 13, please do not sign up. In the UK and the EEA the minimum age is 16 unless a parent or guardian consents. If you believe a child has created an account, email kylechapman09@gmail.com and it will be removed.

How long things are kept, and how to delete them

Account and activity data is kept for as long as the account exists. You can ask for a copy of your data, or for your account and its data to be deleted, by emailing kylechapman09@gmail.com from the address on the account. Deletion removes your profile and the activity attached to it. Requests are handled personally, so please allow a few days.

Depending on where you live you may have additional rights over your data, including access, correction, deletion and objection. The email address above is the route for all of them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it. Material changes will be noted on the site.
